Job description
Renesas is seeking a System Architect and Product Definer for automotive Battery Management ICs, with a strong focus on functional safety-compliant system design.
In this role, you will translate customer and market requirements into robust, safe, and cost-effective IC solutions, working closely with global cross-functional teams across system, safety, hardware, software, and product management., * Define system requirements and run use-case analysis for automotive Battery Management ICs
- Define product concepts, applications, and system solutions aligned with customer and market needs
- Perform solution and cost trade-off analyses to support competitive and scalable product positioning
- Create, structure, and maintain system and product requirements using Polarion
- Develop system and IC architectures, including functional partitioning and interface definition
- Define and document functional behavior, operating modes, and safety-related functions
- Perform SPICE and MATLAB simulations to analyze circuit behavior, performance, and robustness
- Develop reference schematics and layouts based on automotive requirements
- Support functional safety activities across the product lifecycle, including:
- Contribution to safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA)
- Support definition of safety concepts and safety mechanisms
- Use Medini Analyze to support safety modeling, traceability, and analysis
- Support architectural decisions considering functional safety, reliability, cost, and manufacturability
- Collaborate with global teams across design, verification, safety, applications, and marketing
- Contribute to compliance with automotive quality, safety, and development standards, We have adopted a hybrid model that gives employees the ability to work remotely two days a week while ensuring that we come together as a team in the office the rest of the time. The designated in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday for innovation, collaboration and continuous learning.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Simulink?, Do you have a Master's degree?, Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Proven experience in automotive electronics development, ideally within a Tier-1 ECU environment
- Strong background in system architecture and product definition
- Experience with requirements engineering tools (Polarion or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience with SPICE-based simulation and MATLAB / Simulink
- Experience supporting functional safety-related development activities
- Solid understanding of automotive battery management systems and power electronics
- Experience with Battery Management Systems (BMS) or power management ICs
- Practical experience with ISO 26262 (ASIL-oriented development)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Medini Analyze for safety analysis and traceability
- Experience working in international, cross-cultural engineering teams
- Strong analytical skills with a system-level, customer-focused mindset
- Product definition of automotive mixed-signal ICs
