Job description
We have a new opportunity available for a Data Solutions Developer reporting into the Data Solutions Development Manager. the role holder should be able to perform a range of tasks involved in the development of Data Warehousing applications. All tasks must be carried out to departmental standards and to time scales agreed with the Data Solutions Development Manager.
What the role will look like:
- Designing and building solutions to meet business requirements
- Collaborating with analysts and business users
- Working to agreed deadlines
- Developing solutions to site standards
- Maintaining code repository and version control of all changes and new developments
- Creating and maintaining suitable documentation
- Accurate time recording against projects and weekly submission of the figures
- Working unsupervised most of the time
Requirements
Do you have experience in SQL?, * Technical knowledge around working with Oracle 19 related databases (PL/SQL and Toad)
- Demonstrable experience of working in a Data Warehousing environment, creating and maintaining scripts and code
- Code tuning and support of live applications.
- Business Objects skills to design and deploy universes, schedule reports, and manage administration functions.
- Effective communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Work tracking and version control using ADO / Git.
- An ability to communicate effectively with both junior and senior members of staff, at a technical or non-technical level as appropriate.
- Proven ability to adapt to constantly changing deadlines and priorities.
- Experience to handle working in pressure situations, as tight deadlines are the norm for this job.
- An understanding of the testing cycle and assisting in that process. Time/Workload management.
