Job description
We are looking for a 3rd Line Support Engineer to work onsite at a prominent infrastructure client in London. This is a great opportunity for a seasoned technical professional to work at the most elevated technical level with the support of a team., This is a senior role that is responsible for managing and supporting complex technical activities across standard technical solution investigation, resolution and diagnosis, as well as ad-hoc project work. You will be the most senior engineer onsite and will act as the escalation point for any technical enquiries.
You will also have the opportunity to manage the internal infrastructure, manage your own workload, and ultimately play a big role in delivering the standard of service to the client. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and develop a team of engineers.
Some of your other responsibilities will include:
- Owning and managing all technical incidents onsite (with the support of out of hours staff)
- Managing the clients' expectation through clear technical communications and guidance on technical problems and technical queries
- Ensuring time entries are accurately logged on the system and the minimum amount is met every day
- Actively updating documentation when changes are made
- Working with the Service Delivery Manager to identify individual and team objectives
- Working with the Service Delivery Manager to ensuring the way tickets are logged and handled are aligned with the high standards at Advania
Requirements
Do you have experience in Virtualization?, This role will suit someone who has pre-existing onsite experience of working directly on a client premise. The position naturally leans into strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to solve a variety of problems, communicate effectively to a variety of audiences, adeptness at managing changing priorities, and the leadership acumen to guide and lead more junior engineers.
The right candidate for this role will have the following technical experience
- Microsoft Exchange
- Microsoft Office 365 (enabling and managing)
- Strong TCP\IP knowledge, routing, switching, Next-Generation Firewalls etc.
- VPNs in site-to-site and remote user configurations
- Virtualization knowledge - Ideally with VMWare, knowledge of maintaining highly available hypervisor deployments
- Storage Area Networks knowledge - SAN Administration, iSCSI networking
- Microsoft Azure expertise - Entra AD Admin, Enterprise Apps, App Services, Azure SQL Databases
- AD, DHCP, DNS - expert in-depth knowledge. Group Policies - create, breakdown, troubleshoot issues
- Administration experience within Microsoft SharePoint Online, Teams and OneDrive
Benefits & conditions
The budgeted salary for this role is between £50,000 - £60,000 a year, depending on experience.
