Data Engineer | Life Sciences

We are looking for a Data Architecture Engineer to join our team working on an innovative IT/OT architecture redesign project. In this role, you will help create a unified data architecture that supports real-time decision making and historical data analysis in a manufacturing environment.

In this role you will play a key role in:

• Consulting with stakeholders to refine user requirements and functional specifications
• Designing and implementing a Unified Namespace (UNS) to organize industrial data
• Developing scalable, performant data pipelines to extract, enrich, and publish data in real-time
• Creating custom software components to expose data from previously isolated systems
• Mentoring junior developers and providing technical guidance
• Optimizing pipeline performance (latency, throughput, reliability)

• Master's degree in computer science, engineering, automation, or related field
• 5+ years of work experience in software development or data engineering
• Deep understanding of Unified Namespace (UNS) architecture and implementation
• Experience with 'DataOps' systems (e.g., HighByte, Apache NiFi, Litmus, HiveMQ)
• Proficiency with message broker technology (Kafka, Active MQ), caching systems (Redis), and databases (SQL and NoSQL)
• Knowledge of automation/equipment protocols (MODBUS, OPC UA, S7, etc.)
• Experience with DevOps practices, containerization, and version control
