We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join the analytics and data science team in Barcelona. This role is ideal for professionals with strong technical expertise and leadership abilities, who enjoy mentoring, driving complex projects, and applying advanced machine learning techniques to solve real business problems. The position focuses on improving search, recommendations, and retention strategies in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a hybrid role, requiring two days per week onsite in the Barcelona office. Role Highlights, Employees enjoy access to cutting-edge technology, continuous learning, and a focus on well-being, recognition, and social responsibility Work permit requirements: Only candidates with a valid work permit for any European Union (EU) country will be considered for this role Tech stack SQL Python (scikit-learn, xgboost, numpy, scipy, pandas) Data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Mode, Matplotlib, ggplot) Big data technologies (e.g., Spark, AWS, Redshift) What will you do Partner with product, marketing, and operations teams to identify opportunities to optimize user matching and increase customer retention Build and refine predictive models and machine learning algorithms for search and recommendations Enhance ranking systems by incorporating contextual features such as location, past user behavior, and performance metrics Perform deep data analyses to uncover marketplace insights and provide strategic recommendations Design and maintain scalable data pipelines that support experimentation, monitoring, and decision-making Apply statistical analysis to measure impact, forecast trends, and establish causal relationships when A/B testing is not feasible Implement best practices for deploying and monitoring machine learning models in production Ideally you bring
Requirements
A fast-growing tech company connecting users with trusted providers worldwide - making everyday care easier, safer, and more accessible while creating a meaningful impact in millions of lives Years of experience required: 4+ years of experience Must-have tech skills: SQL, Python, common data science libraries, data visualization, and a foundation in statistics and machine learning, At least 4 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist in a business environment A degree in a quantitative field (advanced degree preferred) Solid foundation in probability, hypothesis testing, and experimental design Strong expertise in machine learning techniques such as ensemble models, NLP, optimization, clustering, or deep learning Previous experience in personalization, recommendations, or two-sided marketplaces is highly valued Excellent SQL and Python skills, along with experience in data visualization and big data technologies Strong communication abilities, with a talent for translating complex analyses into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders A collaborative mindset and a proactive, self-driven work style How this role will benefit your professional career This position offers the opportunity to work in an international and innovative environment where data science is central to product development and business growth.
