We are seeking an experienced API Engineer to support the Diversified Alternatives desk, focusing on event - driven, real - time ETL pipelines and API - led integration. The role will sit within a front - office aligned technology team, working closely with investment, quant, and data teams to deliver scalable, low - latency data services. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain API - driven services to support real - time and near - real - time data ingestion and distribution Develop event - driven ETL pipelines for market, reference, and alternative data sources Implement and maintain Kafka - based streaming solutions (producers, consumers, topics, schemas) Ensure solutions meet performance, scalability, and resiliency requirements appropriate for front - office usage Write clean, testable, and well - documented Python code following engineering best practices Support integration with downstream systems such as data warehouses, analytics platforms, and portfolio tools Contribute to architectural decisions around messaging, APIs, and data flow patterns

5+ years' experience as a backend, API, or data engineer Strong Python development experience (including data processing and service development) Solid SQL skills , with experience working against relational and/or analytical databases Hands - on experience with event - driven technologies, particularly Apache Kafka Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs (or similar API paradigms) Good understanding of real - time data processing, streamin g, and ETL concepts Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices Familiarity with Azure
