This role operates at the intersection of business processes, operational systems, data governance, and reporting, and is responsible for defining and driving a roadmap of data and system improvements that enable trusted, consistent, and reusable operational data given a vast multi-system landscape required to execute Clinical Trial Operations.
This role partners closely with solution owners, business process owners, and team members to identify conflicting or unclear data definitions, non-authoritative data sources, and breakdowns in data lineage. The Senior Principal Engineer establishes frameworks that enable consistent definitions, connects the dots between process, technology, and data teams to help prioritize and lead the technical actions that drive the greatest progress toward our goals, focusing as far upstream as possible., * Define and maintain end-to-end data lineage across operational systems, including how and when data flows between systems and into downstream reporting and analytics.
- Identify gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies in system-to-system integrations that contribute to duplicate data entry or inconsistent data.
- Partner with technology teams to influence integration design decisions that improve data quality and reduce user burden.
Data Quality Enablement
- Identify systemic drivers of data quality issues and lead efforts to optimize technologies to reduce and avoid such issues over time.
- Partner with team members, solution owners, and process owners to establish continuous monitoring approaches that incentivize action by users to correct their data in a timely manner
