Senior Frontend Developer
Leeds - 1 day onsite per week
6 Month Contract
£600/day inside IR35
About the Role Our client is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their Product Development team. In this hands-on role, you'll build high-performance, customer-facing applications for kiosk systems. You'll help shape Front End architecture, mentor junior engineers, and drive best practices across the team, focusing on technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain React/TypeScript applications using modern frameworks
- Architect scalable, maintainable Front End systems with performance and accessibility in mind
- Drive improvements in code quality, testing, and tooling
- Champion responsive design and performance optimisation
- Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD enhancements
- Mentor junior developers and foster a culture of learning
- Contribute to component-driven architecture and design system evolution
- Participate in production support and incident response
What You'll Bring
- Strong experience in JavaScript/TypeScript development
- Expert-level knowledge of React, and modern JS
- Experience with state management (Redux, Zustand, Context API)
- Deep understanding of performance optimization and accessibility
- Experience with AWS, Docker, and advanced testing strategies
- Proven ability to mentor and influence technical decisions
- Agile delivery and continuous improvement mindset
Desireable skills
- Experience with Node.js or Python
- Familiarity with Kubernetes or advanced AWS services
- Exposure to kiosk or POS hardware interfaces
- Accessibility (WCAG) compliance expertise
