Job description
Takeda Lessines is looking for a Senior MES Engineer to lead and support our Manufacturing Execution System (MES) landscape, based on Siemens Opcenter. You will ensure robust shopfloor execution and electronic batch records, drive continuous improvement, and deliver MES projects and enhancements end-to-end-working in close partnership with Manufacturing stakeholders, Quality, and the Automation team., * Provide expert-level support for Siemens Opcenter: incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, and prevention of recurring issues.
- Act as the primary MES point of contact for Manufacturing stakeholders : understand business needs, challenge and refine requirements, and translate them into scalable MES solutions.
- Drive strong collaboration with the Automation team: coordinate troubleshooting across MES-SCADA/PLC or DCS layers, align on equipment connectivity and changes, and ensure seamless shopfloor execution.
- Ensure GMP compliance and support audits/inspections: data integrity, audit trails, electronic records/signatures as applicable.
- Maintain and improve documentation (SOPs, configuration specs, work instructions) and coach junior engineers and key users.
- Participate to a "On Call" support level 2
Projects & Delivery
- Lead MES projects and enhancements from initiation to Go Live: scoping, planning, stakeholder alignment, execution and lessons learned.
- Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering; produce functional specifications and configuration/design documentation.
- Manage end-to-end testing strategy and execution (risk-based), including CSV deliverables (traceability, test scripts/protocols, evidence, deviations).
- Coordinate technical delivery with Automation, IT, Quality, system integrators.
- Support integrations and data flows between MES and connected systems (e.g., ERP, historians, LIMS, SCADA/PLC, DCS layers), including troubleshooting and lifecycle management.
- Identify opportunities to standardize, simplify, and increase reliability/performance of MES solutions
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related field.
- Typically 5+ years of experience in MES within a manufacturing environment (GMP-regulated experience strongly preferred).
- Strong hands-on experience with Siemens Opcenter (configuration, troubleshooting, deployment/support).
- Solid understanding of CSV in regulated environments (risk-based validation, traceability, test execution, controlled documentation).
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders and delivering changes/projects in production environments.
- Experience with Siemens Opcenter solutions integrated with PCS7 and Simatic Batch is a strong asset
- Experience with OSI PI is a strong asset
Nice to have
- Experience with SQL, and/or reporting/analytics.
- Knowledge of ISA-95, electronic batch records, recipe/workflow design, and data integrity (ALCOA+).
- Vendor management / system integrator coordination experience.
- Familiarity with broader shopfloor/OT stack (SCADA, historians, PLC concepts, DCS concepts).
