Job description

SystmOne Product Consultant

Fixed Term/Contract

A leading UK healthcare organisation is seeking an experienced SystmOne Product Consultant to play a strategic role in the implementation, optimisation, and governance of SystmOne as part of a major Electronic Patient Record (EPR) transformation programme. This is a senior position providing system expertise, design leadership, and cross-organisational consultancy to ensure SystmOne meets clinical, operational, and digital transformation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership on the design, configuration, and optimisation of SystmOne across clinical and operational services.
  • Act as the organisation's SystmOne subject-matter expert, advising clinical, operational, and digital leaders.
  • Translate complex user requirements into safe, effective, user-centred system designs.
  • Lead engagement with TPP and other suppliers on priorities, escalations, and future development.
  • Provide expertise on system interoperability, including HL7 and FHIR-based integrations.
  • Oversee governance processes including configuration control, risk assessment, release management, and documentation.
  • Support testing phases (UAT, regression), training delivery, and benefits realisation activities.
  • Troubleshoot complex configuration issues and ensure alignment between system design and BI/reporting needs.

Essential experience:

  • Extensive experience implementing or optimising SystmOne in a healthcare environment.
  • Proven ability to influence system design at a strategic level and advise senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with expertise in resolving complex IM&T challenges.
  • Experience leading lifecycle activities for digital systems, including planning, development, upgrade, and deployment.

Essential qualifications:

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience in Health Informatics, IT, Computer Science, or related field.

Desirable:

  • SystmOne configuration/administration certification.
  • PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification.
  • Experience in EPR deployment.
