Job description

Saga Travel is looking for a Data Analyst to join our growing Data & Analytics team. Working closely with the Senior Data Analyst and partnering with stakeholders across Commercial, Finance and the wider business, you'll help translate business questions into clear, reliable reporting and insights., * Partner with stakeholders across Trading, Finance and the wider business to understand reporting needs, define KPIs, and translate business questions into effective analytics solutions.

  • Design, build and maintain a suite of clear, reliable dashboards and management reports using Power BI.
  • Use SQL and BI tools to conduct ad-hoc analysis that explains business performance and supports data-driven decision making.
  • Interpret trends and patterns in data, turning analysis into clear insights and recommendations that support trading performance and wider business outcomes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and quality of reporting by working closely with Data Engineering to identify and resolve data issues.
  • Communicate insights effectively to stakeholders, helping them understand not just what the numbers show, but why they matter and what actions to take.
  • Support adoption of self-serve analytics by providing guidance and training to business users.
  • As our data platform evolves, contribute to improving data models and supporting more advanced analytical approaches such as segmentation, experimentation and forecasting.

Requirements

This role is ideal for someone with experience developing and delivering management reports, using tools such as Power BI, has a good understanding of SQL and a strong desire to continue learning and growing as an analyst. You'll be responsible for building reporting solutions end-to-end, from understanding stakeholder requirements through to delivering dashboards that support key business decisions., You will already have experience working in a BI or Data Analyst role and be comfortable developing reports that support business decision making. You'll have a good understanding of modern reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau, be able to write basic SQL queries to explore and validate data and have experience working with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver reporting that answers real business questions.

  • Experience working in a BI or Data Analyst role, delivering dashboards or reports that support business decision-making.
  • Experience building reports in Power BI or Tableau, with an understanding of data modelling and the ability to work with measures or calculations (e.g. DAX).
  • Working knowledge of SQL for querying and exploring data.
  • Experience developing and delivering reporting solutions end-to-end, from gathering requirements through to sharing insights with stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate business questions into clear reporting and analysis.
  • A curious and proactive problem-solver who enjoys exploring data and identifying meaningful insights.
  • Good organisation and prioritisation skills, able to manage multiple requests and deadlines.
  • An interest in continuing to develop technical and analytical skills as part of a growing analytics team.
  • Exposure to modern data platforms (e.g. Azure, Fabric, Snowflake) or analytical tools such as Python or R would be beneficial.
