We are seeking a Network Monitoring & Performance Engineer to join our team in Brussels. Responsibilities:
- Daily operations of Monitoring and Application Performance Monitoring tools: AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Icinga, Splunk
- 2nd line incident support, with a specialisation in network related incidents, but not limited to the network domain: analysis of incident tickets and either resolving or dispatching them to the 3rd line incident support
- Design of management systems and other tools: design of architecture, technical evaluation of alternatives offered on the market, conduct of proof of concept, testing in pre-production environment
- Implementation of new solutions for operations: migration of new systems in production environment, definition of procedures, training of operators for new procedures, development of tools (customisation or configuration of commercial tools)
- Evaluation of quality and efficiency of operations by definition and implementation of metrics; periodical follow-up of metrics; proposal of measures to improve quality and/or efficiency of operations
- Training: knowledge at admin level and proven experience are required for one of the following tools:
- AppDynamics
- Dynatrace
- Icinga
- Splunk
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge of ITIL best practices in ICT operations
- Excellent technical knowledge of ICT infrastructure and systems in the Network domain
- Recent practical experience with ICT operations in the Network domain: conducting of operations, implementation and follow-up of SLAs
- Technical knowledge in at least 3 of the following domains:
- Log Management / Data Monitoring / Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
- Application Performance Monitoring (APM)
- Microservices and container architecture
- Cloud-based applications and services
- Working methodologies: DevOps, AIOps, ITIL
- Network basic infrastructure (LAN, WAN, switches, firewalls, proxies, DNS)
- Data Centre basic infrastructure (servers, virtual machines, storage)
- This profile requires a minimum experience of 6 months in at least 2 of the following domains:
- IT Monitoring and Log Management in a centralised Operations Centre
- IT infrastructure performance (fault management and/or capacity planning and/or security management)
- IT Support level 1 (Helpline) and/or level 2
- Data mining, IT metrics and reporting
- Customer care (IT services)

- Cloud networking, routing, access lists, load balancing, VPN
- Network Load Balancing, SSL offload, reverse proxy, content caching
- Enterprise network firewalling, IPS, IDS; firewall virtualisation and hyperscale
- Communication skills: Ability to explain technical concepts to a variety of audiences
- Team spirit: Ability to collaborate with other teams
