Principal Technical Architect

Package: Competitive Salary + BenefitsThe Role As a Principle Technical Architect - Systems Integration, you will be a senior technical leader responsible for architecting, integrating, and delivering complex Defence capabilities across land, maritime, air, space, cyber, and C4ISR domains. The role focuses on systems engineering excellence, large-scale integration, and Agile Delivery within the Defence enterprise.Day-to-day, you will operate as a trusted advisor to MOD stakeholders and Front-Line Commands for an architect that defines and drives the technical strategy for major Defence programmes, competitive bids, and capability transformation initiatives.ResponsibilitiesLeading end-to-end Systems Engineering activities in accordance with Defence and our customers best practices, covering requirements capture, system design, interface definition, verification, validation and acceptanceDeveloping and managing system of systems architecture supporting multi-domain integrationLeading

technical integration efforts across platforms, sensors, data links, applications, networks, and command-and-control systems overseeing the integration across multiple partners and stakeholdersLeading technical solutions and architecture development for major MOD bids developing credible, compliant, and value-drive capability propositionsDeveloping trusted relationships with MOD stakeholders, Front-Line Commands, and Defence industry partners whilst translating Defence user needsLeading multi-disciplinary engineering teams across systems, software, cyber, security, operational analysis, and platform integration fostering a culture of systems thinkingRequirementsExtensive experience solving complex systems engineering and integration projects within the Defence sectorA strong understanding of Defence acquisition, engineering, and governance frameworksDemonstrated experience leading system-of-systems integration across platforms, sensors, networks, and mission systemsStrong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior decision-makersSignificant involvement in major Defence bids, technical solutions, or acquisition programmesPrevious experience applying Agile and modern engineering practices in sensitive or heavily regulated environmentsQualifications We value difference and we don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.This role is 37 hours per week based at either our Farnborough or Malvern site. Hybrid working patterns are available.
