Job description
As a Test Development Engineer, you will lead projects focused on the electro-optical characterization of semiconductor lasers and photodiodes, driving test solutions from concept and laboratory prototypes through to production release. You will develop hardware and software solutions while collaborating closely with R&D, production engineering, and manufacturing teams., * Design and implement electro-optical test solutions (hardware and software) for semiconductor laser diode characterization and beyond
- Develop scalable test concepts from early R&D evaluation to automated production test systems
- Integrate and specify measurement equipment (e.g., SMUs, current sources, spectrometers, photodiodes, thermal control)
- Develop and maintain test software in LabVIEW, Python and/or C/C++ programming
- Perform device characterization (e.g., LIV, spectral, thermal, reliability testing), data analysis and interpretation
- Transfer test methods into stable production environments and support yield/root cause analysis
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, process engineering, manufacturing and external partners
Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or related field.
Previous experience in semiconductor and/or electro-optical device characterization is beneficial.
Skills & Other Requirements
- Strong understanding of electronics, measurement systems and automated test equipment
- Experience in CAD (Solidworks) and/or PCB design (Altium)
- Programming skills in LabVIEW, Python and/or C/C++ programming
- Structured, analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German
