Job Title: Data Centre EngineerLocation: London / DagenhamEmployment Type: Full-timeSalary: £45,000One of our clients are actively looking for a Data Centre Engineer to service one of their clients in London.Data Centre projectThe successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, termination, and maintenance of structured cabling systems to support the critical infrastructure of the facility.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, fiber optic).TroubleshootingInstalling Devices - CISCO ProductsSupporting across 24/7 operationsRead and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.Conduct cable pulling, routing, and dressing in compliance with industry standards.Perform troubleshooting, fault-finding, and repairs on cabling systems.Ensure proper labeling and documentation of cabling infrastructure.Adhere to safety and quality standards, ensuring compliance with regulations.Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and other team members.RequirementsProven experience as a Cable Technician in data centre or large-scale commercial projects.Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA, BICSI, ANSI).Ability to use cable testing and certification tools (Fluke, OTDR, etc.).Strong understanding of fiber optic and copper cabling installations.Ability to work in fast-paced and high-security environments.Must be physically fit to work in confined spaces and lift heavy equipment.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.BenefitsCompetitive salary and overtime opportunities.Career advancement and training support.Work on cutting-edge data centre projects.Supportive and dynamic work environment.
