Job description
- Technical Leadership: Lead technical discovery, architectural planning, and the end-to-end implementation of complex product features.
- Engineering Excellence: Develop and maintain high-performance, accessible, and engaging mobile interfaces using React Native and Expo.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and stakeholders to align technical execution with business objectives.
- Mentorship & Quality: Enhance the capabilities of the engineering team through active pairing, comprehensive code reviews, and structured knowledge-sharing.
- Scalable Architecture: Maintain and evolve scalable mobile architectures, ensuring adherence to secure coding practices and performance optimisation standards.
- Product Iteration: Contribute to a culture of measurement and continuous improvement, utilising data and user feedback to refine the product.
Requirements
Do you have experience in TypeScript?, * Technical Proficiency: 4+ years of professional experience in mobile application development, with deep expertise in React Native and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Platform Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with Expo and modern JavaScript build tooling (e.g., Webpack, Vite).
- Architecture & Standards: Strong understanding of scalable mobile architectures, accessibility (a11y) standards, and mobile performance optimisation.
- Integration: Experience collaborating with API developers and successfully integrating complex third-party platforms.
- Operational Awareness: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing/observability strategies (e.g., GitHub Actions, Sentry).
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate technical strategy to both technical and non-technical audiences., * Full-Stack Capability: Production-grade experience with React for web and backend frameworks (preferably Python/Django and Django Rest Framework).
- Emerging Technologies: Experience integrating AI/ML-powered tools to enhance user personalisation or automation.
- Data-Informed Growth: Familiarity with A/B testing frameworks and data-driven product experimentation.
- Observability: Experience leveraging tools such as Datadog to monitor and improve application health.
