An opportunity has become available for a Design Manufacturing Engineer to join a busy engineering team on a contract basis, supporting ongoing programmes and production improvement activities.
This role focuses on production engineering, jig and fixture design, and process improvement, working closely with cross-functional teams to support manufacturing operations - with a particular need for experience in steel fabrication environments.
The Role
You will be responsible for supporting manufacturing through design, planning and continuous improvement activities.
Key responsibilities:

Design and detail jigs and fixtures using 2D and 3D CAD systems

Plan and define manufacturing routings

Support procurement of engineering components

Work cross-functionally to support new product introduction (NPI) activities

Contribute to factory layout improvements and new layout proposals

Analyse existing processes and implement improvement plans
Requirements
-
Experience within manufacturing or production engineering
-
Background working in steel fabrication or similar heavy engineering environments
-
Strong CAD skills (2D and 3D)

Experience with jig and fixture design

Understanding of manufacturing processes and process improvement

Familiarity with lean manufacturing techniques

Able to work collaboratively across engineering and production teams
