Develop anomaly detection methods using Machine Learning and Simulation-Based Inference for high-dimensional parameter spaces and inference of unmeasured observables.

Improve computational methods to extract the CKM matrix element Vub from inclusive decays using deep learning approaches. Environment: ICCUB is a María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence; opportunities to collaborate with members of the Particle Physics Phenomenology group and close interactions with Prof. Javier Virto's group.
Requirements
PhD or equivalent, 1. Strong background in High-Energy Physics Phenomenology (Flavour Physics advantageous but not mandatory).

Proficiency in computational methods / programming; Python highly desirable (or proven expertise in other languages).

Solid knowledge of statistical methods and data analysis.

Prior research experience with Machine Learning is a valuable asset (not a requirement). Specific Requirements
Strong research record in Theoretical Particle Physics and commitment to cutting-edge research in collaboration with the group.
Benefits & conditions
Full-time contract (37.5 hrs/week).
Gross annual salary: 27.960 €.

Selection process
The specific committee will agree upon an award proposal and draw up a prioritised shortlist of candidates who have achieved a minimum of 80 points or declare the call for applications null and void if none of the applicants reach the minimum score. The award proposal will be published in the UB's electronic office and must include the total scores of the candidates that have received a total of at least 80 points.
