Job description

This is a fantastic opportunity for an engineer with strong Azure, Terraform, DevOps, and CI/CD experience who enjoys building resilient infrastructure, improving developer workflows, and driving platform best practice across the business. You'll work closely with engineering and data teams to enhance cloud environments, support modern data infrastructure, and help deliver fast, safe, and efficient deployments. The Role

As Platform Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, automating, and optimising cloud infrastructure while helping to improve platform reliability, observability, and security. You'll also contribute to incident management, continuous improvement initiatives, and the development of engineering standards that support long-term scalability., Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Infrastructure as Code, including Terraform.
  • Ensure platforms are resilient, high-performing, and cost-efficient.
  • Manage access controls and permissions across infrastructure and data environments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve platform capability through new Azure services and enhancements.

CI/CD & DevOps

  • Work with engineering teams to embed robust CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices.
  • Enable faster, safer, and more frequent releases through automation.
  • Improve build, testing, and release processes to enhance developer productivity.
  • Help standardise DevOps tooling and practices across the engineering function.

Data Infrastructure & Reliability

  • Support and optimise data infrastructure and pipeline architecture.
  • Collaborate with data teams on infrastructure supporting large datasets and event-driven systems.
  • Help maintain strong standards in data reliability, observability, and governance.

System Reliability & Incident Management

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues across platform systems.
  • Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and preventative improvements.
  • Use performance metrics and monitoring insights to drive service improvement.

Engineering Excellence

  • Contribute to engineering standards, automation tooling, and best practices.
  • Support secure coding, testing, and configuration management standards.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Assist in the ongoing evolution of platform engineering and DevOps policies.

Requirements

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a proactive, improvement-focused mindset.

You'll likely have:

  • Experience working with Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
  • Hands-on experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid understanding of DevOps principles, platform reliability, and observability
  • Experience supporting production systems and contributing to incident management
  • Exposure to data platforms, large datasets, or event-driven architecture would be an advantage
  • A collaborative approach and passion for engineering best practice
