We are looking for a hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Architect to lead the full lifecycle of a complex infrastructure migration to the cloud. This is a 12-month contract, outside IR35, requiring on-site presence in Gloucestershire 1-2 days per week. You will take ownership from initial discovery and assessment through to solution design, blueprint creation, and delivery management. - Define and document the target state architecture and migration blueprint
- Select and validate the target cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP) in line with business and technical needs
- Design cloud infrastructure for scalability, security, resilience, and cost-efficiency
- Work across business and IT to define dependencies, risks, and sequencing
- Lead the migration planning and delivery, coordinating internal and third-party teams
- Ensure appropriate governance, security, and compliance measures are built into designs
- Produce architecture artefacts including HLDs, LLDs, runbooks, and handover documentation
- Provide technical leadership and assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle
Requirements
- Proven track record delivering end-to-end cloud migrations
- Strong hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Comfortable working across hybrid environments and complex infrastructures
- Ability to lead both the strategic planning and technical execution of migrations
- Skilled in architecture documentation, planning, and stakeholder engagement
- Strong knowledge of networking, identity management, security, and infrastructure automation
- Experience working within or alongside a Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE) is a plus
- Excellent communicator, able to influence and lead across IT and business units
