Job description
- Design, build, and maintain the firm's core AI and Machine Learning platform
- Partner with stakeholders in research, trading, technology, and operations to design, build, and deploy bespoke AI/ML applications and agents
- Actively monitor the latest developments in applied AI to identify, propose, and implement novel AI-powered solutions
- Proactively engage with teams across the business to promote understanding and adoption of AI tools and capabilities
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Python, with extensive professional experience in building production applications and services
- Proven experience working in a formal Python development environment alongside other developers, following software development best practices
- Demonstrable enthusiasm for AI engineering and Machine Learning
- Strong academic record to include a degree with high mathematical and computing content e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or Physics
- Self-organised with the ability to effectively manage time across multiple projects and with competing business demands and priorities
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain a close working relationship with traders, quantitative researchers, and other stakeholders
Advantageous
- Familiarity with front-end frameworks/languages e.g. TypeScript, React, Next.js
- Experience integrating with databases such as PostgreSQL and Redis
- Experience using GenAI to build agentic, knowledge processing, or automated coding tools
- Experience training or fine-tuning generative models
- Experience building tools and technologies within systematic or discretionary investing units
- Experience working with applied mathematics, financial markets and instruments, with awareness of underlying concepts
- Experience with our tooling stack: Linux/UNIX, Git, Jira, Slack
