Job description

An experienced Windows Infrastructure Engineer is required to deliver complex infrastructure projects within a regulated, fast-paced environment. The role focuses on hybrid platform delivery across VMware and Microsoft Azure/AVS, with strong involvement in life cycle management, vulnerability remediation, HA/DR alignment, and service transition., * Deliver Windows Server re-platforming, upgrade, and decommissioning across hybrid estates.

  • Own project workstreams and provide regular stakeholder updates.
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, security policies, and governance controls.
  • Support structured patching and vulnerability management programmes.
  • Manage service transition, documentation, and operational handover.
  • Align solutions with HA/DR requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong engineering/project delivery experience in Microsoft environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of: Windows Server, AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Certificate Services.
  • Experience with phased patching and tiered environments.
  • Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, firewall rules, proxy/direct access).
  • Experience working in regulated environments.

Desirable

  • Azure IaaS/PaaS and hybrid connectivity experience.
  • VMware & Azure/AVS exposure.
  • ITIL/change management understanding.
  • System Center (MECM/SCOM).
  • AD migrations and M&A/divestiture projects.
