Job description
You will collaborate with a small team of dedicated engineers in a dynamic, yet friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment, where you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Provide technical support for manufacturing tests and diagnostics of weapon sub-systems at system and sub-system level.
- Deliver Test Engineering support from concept through to Production Readiness and operational release.
- Introduce and configure test facilities, ensuring compliance and producing specifications and operator instructions.
- Conduct testing and diagnose failures in electrical/electronic systems down to circuit card or component level.
- Implement corrective actions promptly to maintain production schedules and resolve technical issues.
- Represent Test Engineering at Defect Review Boards to drive timely resolution of quality notifications.
Requirements
Guidant Global is proud to partner with a leading UK Ministry of Defence organisation to recruit an experienced Production Test Engineer with a strong Electronic/Electrical engineering background. This role supports the testing and fault diagnosis of electrical and electronic sub-systems and circuit cards throughout the production lifecycle. You will play a key role in supporting manufacturing test capability, ensuring delivery against programme time, cost and quality targets. An HNC in Engineering or equivalent is essential., * Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualifications or equivalent.
- Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles, and fault diagnosis techniques, with demonstrable experience down to electronic component level.
- Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-system and system design, integration and test principles.
- Good verbal and written communication skills, including generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports.
- Ability to plan and organise one's work according to assigned priorities.
- Advantageous:
- Knowledge of RF and Microwave technology at the subsystem level.
- Experience in operating manual and automated test equipment in an Electronics Manufacturing environment.
- CADMID product lifecycle for test equipment is desirable.
- Environmental testing would also be an advantage.
- High Voltage training/awareness.
- SAP Beneficial
