Tasks

  • Manage IT projects and oversee applications for the faculty.
  • Supervise the IT team and ensure system evolution meets needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and represent faculty in IT meetings., The SSP Faculty is one of the 7 Faculties of the University of Lausanne. The Faculty's IT sector acts as the interface with the University's central IT service, complementing its action by adapting or developing tools for the specific needs of the Faculty.

Under the responsibility of the Faculty Administrator and Deputy Administrator, you will manage IT projects, be responsible for the applications used by the Faculty, and supervise the Faculty's IT team. You will also lead the evolution of the information system to meet business needs and functional obsolescence.

Your scope of intervention may include management of:

  • student affairs;
  • servers;
  • human resources (monitoring positions, contracts, specifications, hours);
  • calendars;
  • document management (GED).

In your activities, you will mainly be called upon to:

  • take responsibility for the applications used by the Faculty and monitor the evolution of needs, implementing means and projects to ensure necessary developments;
  • manage the Faculty's IT projects by supervising and planning developments specific to the Faculty, validating technological choices, ensuring compliance with methodological standards and business directives, and finally establishing documentation for users and ensuring their training;
  • advise on IT project governance and represent the SSP Faculty in IT meetings at the UNIL level (IT request prioritization committee (COPRO), meetings related to administrative applications for student management (Café legacy), Information System Managers meeting (RSI), etc.);
  • preview IT activity reports presented to the SSP Faculty Dean's Office and support and advise the Dean's Office on IT issues (data protection, artificial intelligence, etc.);
  • manage the IT equipment, access, and software requests;
  • supervise the SSP Faculty IT team, organize its activity, and assume hierarchical responsibility

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant degree and have 5+ years in IT analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Macintosh, Windows, and Linux systems.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills., * holder of a Federal Diploma in Computer Science and Management, a university Master's degree in information systems, or an equivalent qualification;
  • with at least 5 years of professional experience in business analysis including 3 years in team and project management;
  • equipped with good technical knowledge of Macintosh, Windows, and Linux operating systems. Knowledge of network connectivity, servers, software.
  • organized and pragmatic, with interpersonal skills and enjoying working in a multidisciplinary team, also with good analytical skills and strong writing ability.
  • ideally familiar with the academic world and the IT needs of research and teaching in social sciences (e.g., statistical, survey, analysis, editing tools, etc.).
