The Software Test Engineer works closely with software developers, system architects, and project teams to ensure that software components are deployed, tested, and validated effectively on Linux-based targets. The position combines hands-on technical work-such as writing and executing test plans, debugging issues, building and deploying containerised applications. Success in this role requires a solid understanding of Linux systems, software testing practices, scripting, and modern software delivery approaches, alongside the ability to work proactively and maintain high standards of quality and documentation., * Integrate complex software components into distributed platforms.
- Develop and execute verification plans, scripts, and wider software test activities.
- Work with software engineers to troubleshoot, debug, and validate software on Linux targets.
- Package and deploy software using containerisation technologies such as Docker, Podman, or Kubernetes.
- Apply software best practices including unit testing, static analysis, and adherence to coding standards.
- Contribute to software build pipelines (Jenkins or Git runners) and configuration management workflows.
- Produce technical documentation and maintain test deliverables.
- Participate in project reporting, risk management, and regular engineering meetings.

Requirements
- Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
- ISTQB certification would be beneficial., * Java, C++, and Python (competent to practitioner level).
- Linux OS, Linux infrastructure, and Linux scripting.
- Software architectures and large-scale distributed system design awareness.
- Model-driven development and mathematical model implementation (desirable).
- Containerisation (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).

- GPU programming awareness (CUDA, HIP, OpenCL) - desirable.
