Design Engineer

A national house builder have a requirement for a Design Engineer to join their Technical team overseeing Civils Design packages and technical approvals for new build developments initially on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.

Design Engineer role

Reporting to the Technical Director, you will be working within our Engineering Team and be responsible for undertaking the design of infrastructure and groundwork's packages for residential developments.

Duties to include:

• Procure service records and enquiries for new developments,
• Undertake In-House Road and Sewer designs for new estate roads and Infrastructure.
• Prepare Groundwork pack designs for tender and construction issue.
• Undertake Drainage, Foundation and Levels appraisals to support land bids.
• Secure S38, S104, S185 & S278 legal agreements to suit the development programme.
• Obtain designs for foundations and where necessary have input into securing structural
• designs for superstructure components
• Maintain a continuous process of evaluation of any Consultant's designs to ensure that
• proposals adhere to best practice in value Engineering
• Liaise with other Technical Team members and others as necessary to seek the discharge of
• building regulations and planning conditions.
• Support our Site Engineers and Site Managers by responding to site technical queries.

• Experienced of producing civil engineering drawings for S38 and S104 packs (roads and drainage) within the residential sector
• Proficient using Causeway design packages (PDS flow), micro drainage and AutoCAD
• Innovative approach to problem solving
• Capable of managing multiple developments
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Proven experience in the productions of value engineering design
• Ability to effectively communicate with people across all departments and levels within the business
