Data Scientist/Software Developer

To make sense of the data we collect from thousands of sources, we heavily employ Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing techniques, and cloud computing., * Development of predictive applications related to the startup lifecycle, such as the probability of raising funds, the probability of an exit, company valuation, etc.

• Full ownership of the project: from conceptualisation to writing production-grade code and deployment
• Monitoring, refactoring, and other ongoing optimisations of the deployed applications.

Our client is looking for an experienced junior to mid-level Data Scientist as an addition to their London-based Data Science Team. They particularly value the experience in building real-world predictive applications that have delivered measurable outcomes. Also, a team fit is paramount. You will be a humble self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision., * Have a keen interest in working within a privately funded, startup-like environment, embracing the uncertainties and responsibilities, but also the excitement that accompanies the process

• Possess a can-do attitude and thrive with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and are eager to share your learnings with others
• Possess a robust theoretical understanding and practical experience in using Machine Learning to develop real-world predictive applications that have delivered tangible business value
• Have a solid working knowledge of the following technologies:

• Machine Learning frameworks for Python or R

• SQL (Postgres and/or other dialects)

• Git and GitHub

• Follow and implement best practices for programming
• Ideally, can showcase your skills through open-source contributions, blog posts, online courses developed by you, or academic publications (co-)authored by you
• Bonus points if you have any or a combination of the following:

• Technologies from our stack

• AWS services: Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, ECR, EC2, ECS, API Gateway, SQS, SNS

• Docker

• Big Data processing engines (e.g. Spark)

• Programming in compiled languages (Rust in particular)

• Developing web applications using the Shiny framework

• Experience in the Venture Capital / Private Equity / Finance industries

• Verifiable certificates for any of the aforementioned technologies

• Can speak Russian or Spanish (in addition to fluent English)
