Job description
As Centre of Excellence Lead, you shape a culture where data governance and quality by design are embedded across the organization. You ensure that Proximus treats its data as a trusted, secure and valuable corporate asset - enabling compliance while unlocking efficiency and business value.
Through your data architects, you guarantee 'data by design' across all major Proximus projects and epics. And with your Digital Analytics Centre of Excellence, you make sure the right data is collected and leveraged across our websites and apps to boost digital performance, enhance customer experience and strengthen business impact.
In a nutshell: you help turn Proximus into a technological frontrunner by unleashing the power of data.
Your impact
- Lead a Centre of Excellence of 40+ data experts, organized across four sub-teams.
- Implement actionable governance policies and data frameworks aligned with architectural vision and business priorities
- Translate complex concepts into practical processes that empower business teams while securing compliance with GDPR, ISO, NIS2 and the AI Act
- Own and evolve our digital analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, ContentSquare)
- Grow and maintain complex IT architectures that support Data Governance & Data Quality capabilities, aligned with the broader IT ecosystem and IT Unit guidelines.
- Drive company-wide programs by aligning a broad range of stakeholders around Proximus' strategic objectives (e.g. Data Catalogue, Corporate Data Migrations)
- Partner with Digital, Cybersecurity, Architecture and Program Management to embed digital analytics, governance and quality-by-design principles into methodologies and corporate tools
- Design and execute multi-year roadmaps that balance staffing and financial considerations with stakeholder expectations
- Spot opportunities - large or small - to improve data governance and quality across IT and business teams, and mobilize teams to turn these opportunities into value
- Develop training plans and documentation to support knowledge sharing and adherence to best practices across Proximus
- Represent the Centres of Excellence in various committees, engaging confidently with diverse profiles from experts to top management
- As a valued member of the Data leadership team, contribute to the overall data strategy, roadmap and objectives
Requirements
Do you have a Master's degree?, * A Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Management, Business or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management or related domains
- 5+ years of experience leading teams, nurturing an inclusive and empowering work environment Strong understanding of data governance, privacy principles, data quality processes and the lifecycle of data pipelines (ideation development deployment
- maintenance)
- A strategic mindset with excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills across business and IT
- Proven experience in cross-functional collaboration, influencing without formal authority and constructively challenging to build buy-in
- Familiarity with modern data platforms and tools (Collibra, Cloudera, Microsoft Azure, Adobe Analytics)
- Fluency in French or Dutch, and fluency in English
