(Senior) Backend Engineer (all genders)
Role details
Job location

Job description
- Run self-organized backend initiatives: You don't wait for tickets. You identify problems, propose solutions, and drive them to completion, always ensuring the topics you bring up directly support the product roadmap and business goals.
- Act as a DevOps sparring partner: You work closely with our DevOps engineer to keep the infrastructure clean and aligned. You collaborate to avoid drift, tech debt, and architectural inconsistency.
- Be thorough, but avoid overthinking: You understand problems deeply before thinking of solutions. You are highly thorough in your approach, but you don't get stuck in analysis paralysis. You ask questions, challenge assumptions, and then you ship.
- Champion architectural pragmatism: You prioritize maintainable, elegant solutions over unnecessary complexity. You know how to design for scale without falling into the trap of over-engineering or building for problems we don't yet have.
- Build for 24/7 reliability: You operate with a zero-downtime mindset. You know how to leverage modern tooling to build and operate high-availability services 24/7-without actually needing to be present 24/7.
- Communicate proactively: You share context early, flag blockers before they escalate, and seek feedback instead of working in isolation. This is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have.
- Embrace a T-shaped growth mindset: You are eager to learn new things and expand your impact. You have an interest in growing into a T-shaped fullstack engineer, which includes a natural curiosity for mobile development (no prior experience required).
