At Connect Plus Services, we manage and maintain the strategic infrastructure of the M25 motorway network, one of the busiest and most complex road networks in Europe. Working in partnership with National Highways and Connect Plus, we play a vital role in keeping the network safe, efficient and operational for millions of road users every day., In this role, you will support the development and implementation of whole lifecycle asset management strategies to meet the long-term requirements of the M25 DBFO contract. You will be involved in maintaining and updating asset management systems, reviewing condition data and supporting bridge inspections, while helping to identify and prioritise renewal and maintenance interventions.
Working closely with the Structures Manager and Senior Structures Asset Engineers, you will contribute to the development of long-term asset strategies, including annual, five-year and thirty-year plans. You will support scheme identification, option studies and lifecycle planning activities, ensuring that investment decisions are informed, efficient and aligned to network needs.
You will play a key role in whole life cost analysis and optimisation, helping to prioritise works and improve asset performance across the network. This will include working with asset management systems and decision support tools to drive value-led, data-informed decision making.
The role requires close collaboration with a wide range of internal teams including Asset Investment, Technical, Design, Delivery and Maintenance, as well as external stakeholders such as National Highways and the wider supply chain. You will also support incident response activities and ensure compliance with relevant standards, legislation and contract requirements. What you'll be doing
Requirements
Do you have a valid Driving License license?, Do you have experience in Microsoft Excel?, We are seeking a degree-qualified engineer, or equivalent, with experience or a strong interest in highway structures asset management. You will have an understanding of bridge inspection and maintenance activities, along with knowledge of relevant standards such as DMRB, SHW and requirements relating to road restraint systems.
You will ideally be working towards a professional qualification such as MICE, MIAM or MIStructE and have an understanding of asset management systems and their application within a highways environment. Experience of working on the Strategic Road Network or with National Highways would be advantageous.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel are essential, alongside the ability to manage and interpret data to support decision making. You will be an effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
A structured and methodical approach is key, along with the ability to plan and organise work across short, medium and long-term timeframes. You will be proactive, take ownership of your work and demonstrate accountability in delivering high-quality outcomes. A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
