All of our vehicles are designed and manufactured in line with relevant British Standards, and we take health and safety extremely seriously across every stage of production.
We are looking for a Design Engineer to play a key role in the development of our vehicles and internal systems. This is a mixed role combining design, engineering and hands-on development, with a strong focus on R&D.
You will be working across both 2D and 3D design, using a range of software including Fusion 360, SketchUp Pro for visual customer facing models, V-Carve Pro for CNC workflows, and Bambu Labs systems for rapid prototyping of 3D printed components., * Design and develop components, assemblies and full systems for campervans
- Produce accurate 2D engineering drawings and detailed 3D models
- Work within assemblies and manage complex design structures
- Ensure all designs are manufacturable, efficient and meet company standards
- Develop new products and continuously improve existing designs
- Create visual models for customer use and internal development
- Support CNC processes through V-Carve Pro and related outputs
- Use rapid prototyping methods, including 3D printing, to test and refine designs
- Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure designs are practical and implemented correctly
- Ensure all designs and installations are compliant with Mercedes Benz requirements and relevant standards
- Maintain organised design files, documentation and revision control
Requirements
Do you have experience in SketchUp?, * Strong experience in 3D CAD software, ideally Fusion 360 or similar
- Ability to produce clear and accurate engineering drawings
- Experience working with assemblies and complex design structures
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacture
- Experience in product development or R&D environments
- Good attention to detail and problem solving ability
Desirable but not essential
- Experience with SketchUp Pro, V-Carve Pro or similar software
- Experience with 3D printing and rapid prototyping
- Experience in automotive, marine or related industries
- Someone who takes pride in their work and cares about quality
