Your Role
As AIX System Engineer at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you are strengthening our platform team as a professional and experienced engineer and providing maintenance, optimization and modernization of our enterprise infrastructure across AIX, Linux environments.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain AIX-based enterprise systems, including LPARs, VIO, NIM and HMC/IVM
- Operate, maintain and expand Linux and Unix systems, as well as their basic infrastructure (storage, hardware and network)
- Collaborate in conceiving and implementing projects, as well as further developing and optimizing existing infrastructure
- Provide second level support within the existing support organization, including on-call duty
- Ensure compliance with security policies, backup strategies, and change management procedures
- Demonstrate expertise working with Ansible to automate daily tasks
Your Profile
- University degree (university / FH) in Computer Science
- 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM AIX (versions 7.1/7.2/7.3)
- Experience with enterprise storage (SAN, NFS, GPFS) and virtualization (PowerVM)
- First relevant work experience in LPAR/VIO management
- 3+ years of experience administering Linux (RHEL preferred) and strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ansible)
- Experience with ITIL methodologies
- Fluency in English; fluency in German is a plus
- Willingness to travel (~5-10%)
- Ability to weight problems and set priorities, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Willingness to take responsibility and ability to work under pressure
