Job description

Your Role

As AIX System Engineer at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you are strengthening our platform team as a professional and experienced engineer and providing maintenance, optimization and modernization of our enterprise infrastructure across AIX, Linux environments.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain AIX-based enterprise systems, including LPARs, VIO, NIM and HMC/IVM
  • Operate, maintain and expand Linux and Unix systems, as well as their basic infrastructure (storage, hardware and network)
  • Collaborate in conceiving and implementing projects, as well as further developing and optimizing existing infrastructure
  • Provide second level support within the existing support organization, including on-call duty
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, backup strategies, and change management procedures
  • Demonstrate expertise working with Ansible to automate daily tasks

Your Profile

  • University degree (university / FH) in Computer Science
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM AIX (versions 7.1/7.2/7.3)
  • Experience with enterprise storage (SAN, NFS, GPFS) and virtualization (PowerVM)
  • First relevant work experience in LPAR/VIO management
  • 3+ years of experience administering Linux (RHEL preferred) and strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, Ansible)
  • Experience with ITIL methodologies
  • Fluency in English; fluency in German is a plus
  • Willingness to travel (~5-10%)
  • Ability to weight problems and set priorities, as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to take responsibility and ability to work under pressure
