Deliver complex, integrated medical device software systems in a regulated environment Lead cross-functional teams across sound processors, fitting software and cloud platforms Drive schedule, budget, regulatory and system-level outcomes for high-impact programs The Opportunity The Software System Project Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of complex, end-to-end software system programs within Cochlear's medical device ecosystem. This includes coordinating delivery across sound processors, implants, software, cloud infrastructure and supporting systems to ensure safe, compliant and clinically effective solutions. Operating in a highly regulated environment, you will partner with engineering, clinical, quality, regulatory and business stakeholders to drive system integration, manage risk, and deliver outcomes aligned to Cochlear's strategic and clinical objectives. This role requires strong systems thinking, disciplined project execution, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority. Responsibilities include: Lead multiple concurrent software system projects from concept through to market launch and post-market support Develop and maintain integrated project plans covering scope, schedule, budget, clinical validation and regulatory pathways Coordinate system-level delivery across sound processors, implants, software, cloud platforms and component teams Track and manage project financial performance including forecasting, budget control and resource justification Identify, assess and mitigate project, system and delivery risks, including field issue investigation and resolution Provide executive-level project reporting and stakeholder communication Champion systems thinking and best-practice project management across cross-functional teams Capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement in project delivery practices
Requirements

To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: Strong experience delivering complex software or system-level projects in regulated medical device environments Solid understanding of software systems engineering, system integration principles and component interaction Proven capability managing project scope, schedule, risk and financial performance Experience working within medical device quality and regulatory frameworks Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams without direct authority Strong stakeholder management, communication and executive reporting skills What Would Make You Stand Out Experience delivering large-scale, integrated software systems spanning devices, software applications and cloud platforms, combined with a track record of improving project management practices or championing systems thinking at an organisational level.
