Tasks

  • Build and manage high-quality cloud data infrastructures for clients.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers and Scientists on analytics platforms.
  • Design and implement robust data pipelines and ingestion processes., Our business line «Data, Analytics & AI» is responsible for providing and utilizing technology platforms that promote the value creation of our customers. The numerous exclusive projects differ in scope, industries, and companies., As a Senior Cloud Data Engineer, you work in multiple teams including data engineers, architects, and scientists to build and operate state-of-the-art data analytics platforms. The role requires technical skills in analytics ecosystems with a focus on cloud infrastructure and open-source software.
  • You participate in one or more cloud data platform projects and independently implement high-quality data pipelines and cloud data infrastructures. You coordinate requirements with the customer and act as a coach for less experienced team members.
  • You share responsibility for the design, code, and configuration of components that manage data ingestion, real-time streaming, batch processing, data extraction, and transformation across multiple data sources and applications.
  • You ensure that your solutions meet customer requirements regarding functionality, performance, availability, scalability, security, and reliability.
  • You assist in creating proposals for customer projects.
  • You share your experience within the team and help leverage synergies between projects.
  • You collaborate with business analysts and data scientists to understand and realize their use cases.

Requirements

  • University degree and over 5 years in analytics technologies and cloud solutions.
  • Expertise in SQL, Python, and cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Strong background in data modeling and governance practices., We are looking for a motivated person for the role of Senior Cloud Data Engineer. You have a flair for data and AI with experience in implementing complex distributed data platforms and applications to process heterogeneous and large data volumes. Ideally, a person experienced in analytics technologies such as SQL, DBT Spark, Python, and various databases, as well as well acquainted with cloud infrastructure (Databricks, Azure, Fabrics, AWS)., * University degree ETH/UNI/FH with several years of programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala
  • At least 5 years of implementation skills with analytics technologies such as SQL, DBT, Spark, Kafka, and programming experience in Python.
  • Experience with Scala and classic ETL tools like Talend or SSIS is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in deploying and automating cloud solutions in Azure, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes with Terraform or comparable tools
  • Know-how in SQL and NoSQL databases, e.g., PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Databricks, or MS SQL Server
  • Experience in data modeling and data governance
  • Experience with the entire software development lifecycle: coding standards, code reviews, source code management, continuous integration/deployment, testing, and operations
  • Data warehouse as well as data mesh knowledge complete the profile
  • Fluent in German and English
