Job description

This vital role has arisen amidst a period of expansion driven by significant upcoming projects in aerospace hardware and FPGA development. As a key member of the team, you will influence the design, development, and verification of complex FPGA systems essential to future space missions. Your contributions will help shape technological advancements and ensure mission success-making this an exciting and impactful career move. Your Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and verify complex FPGA architectures, ensuring they meet technical specifications and system requirements
  • Develop embedded software components closely integrated with FPGA hardware for System-on-Chip applications
  • Collaborate with system engineers to refine FPGA functional specifications, interfaces, and timing constraints
  • Define, synthesise, and perform timing analysis and layout constraint applications to optimise FPGA performance
  • Create comprehensive test benches, execute simulations, and validate FPGA designs through rigorous testing processes
  • Assist in integrating FPGA hardware within the wider system environment, working alongside test engineers during validation activities
  • Document development processes meticulously, adhering to industry standards (such as ECSS-E-ST-20-40C and ECSS-Q-ST-60-03C) to ensure quality and compliance

Requirements

  • A degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a comparable technical field
  • Between 3 and 5 years' experience in FPGA development, with a strong emphasis on practical VHDL skills-candidates with more than 5 years are highly desirable
  • Proficiency in digital hardware design, including familiarity with FPGA development tools and simulation environments
  • Solid understanding of embedded software development in C/C++
  • Experience working with version control systems and complex project environments
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-disciplinary team, understanding how your work integrates into larger projects
  • Willingness to work onsite in Bremen or Brunswick
