Job description

  • The Rockstar Games Technical QA team work closely with development teams to ensure the technical performance and stability of game systems and features meets expected standards.
  • We leverage both industry standard and custom internal tools for assessing game performance.
  • We research new and upcoming tools, integrate them into our workflows, and develop new testing methodologies to be used across all Rockstar game titles.
  • We support our global QA teams with technical training and documentation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learn our tools and methods, develop an understanding of our game systems and how they interact.
  • Test and validate the technical performance of game features, content, and systems.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple time zones to deliver quality results in a timely manner.
  • Test additional systems or game features as needed and respond to ad-hoc or time-sensitive test requests, potentially across multiple projects.
  • Identify issues, gather supporting information, and write comprehensive bug reports.
  • Manage task priorities across initiatives with competing deadlines.

Requirements

  • A strong interest in game performance, and how it is measured.
  • Strong knowledge of PC hardware and contemporary games consoles.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to tailor communication style to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A strong understanding of recent Rockstar titles, both single player and multiplayer.
  • Ability to work productively, collaboratively, and communicate effectively, including with members of other departments.
  • The ability to multitask, prioritize, and work to deadlines as well as remain focused when approaching repetitive tasks.
  • Excellent attention to detail., * Familiarity with PC game benchmarking and performance tuning.
  • Experience with graphing or charting tools (including Excel charts), and how to present and report data is desirable.
  • Familiarity with parsing log files, triaging crash dumps, interpreting call stacks, etc.
  • Experience with project management software or issue/ticket tracking tools.
  • Previous industry experience in a QA or related role.
  • Degree level educated.
