Job description
We are looking for a System Designer - Cloud Infrastructure to join the Cloud, Common & Solutions System & Technology team in Herzogenrath. In this role you will drive system-level thinking and technology leadership for Cloud Infrastructure, ADP and Core Network Solutions with a strong focus on AI and next-generation architectures. You will run system studies, design and prototype AI-driven features and help evolve our products toward more autonomous, 6G-ready cloud-native solutions. This position offers the chance to influence product strategy, collaborate across Product Development Units and coach colleagues in AI best practices. Aufgaben
- Lead and shape system studies to define the evolution of next-generation cloud and network architectures.
- Conceptualize, design and deliver AI prototypes and PoCs, and assess their technical and customer impact.
- Build scalable, secure agentic systems and APIs, and drive model integration for inference and deployment.
- Promote AI efficiency tools and mentor less experienced developers to raise team capabilities.
- Coordinate technology and governance activities across PDUs, ensuring alignment with SA, BA and Ericsson architecture frameworks.
Requirements
- A BSc/MSc (or equivalent) in a technical field and strong software engineering experience (Python required; familiarity with C++, JavaScript, Bash a plus).
- Hands-on experience with ML/AI tooling (for example PyTorch, LangChain/LangGraph, vLLM, RAG/MCP) and model training/inference workflows.
- Proven experience building scalable, high-performance systems (cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm) and working with CI/CD, Git and UNIX-based workflows.
- Strong communication and team leadership skills, ability to explain complex concepts clearly, and experience working in agile/Scrum environments.
- Curiosity, flexibility and a results-oriented mindset; deep knowledge of agentic AI architectures and experience running complex AI projects is a strong plus.
- Proficient German language skills are required for this role.
