Becton Dickinson is on a transformative journey to redefine Medication Management, improving safety, simplicity and efficiency across the care continuum. As part of this strategy, the Solution Specialist IT for Medication Management Solutions plays a key role in enabling connected pharmacy workflows across the Benelux region. In this field-based role, you will support the design and pre-sales definition of integrated Medication Management Solutions across hospital/pharmacy environments. You will collaborate closely with customers and internal teams to ensure BD solutions connect effectively with healthcare IT systems and workflows. The position is primarily Belgium-based, with approximately 30% travel to the Netherlands. Candidates can be located in central or northern Belgium, provided they can travel easily. You will report to the Customer Success Leader and contribute directly to advancing BD's connectivity strategy, supporting hospitals in their digital transformation and medication safety initiatives.
With our technical capabilities, the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team are able to manage multiple systems and our operational capabilities enable us to have medications available when and where needed, reducing inefficiency and waste for nursing and pharmacy teams., * Supporting pre-sales activities by assessing customer environments and defining suitable integration approaches
- Leading technical discussions with hospital IT, pharmacy and clinical teams to understand requirements and workflows
- Designing solution architectures aligned with BD Medication Management portfolio, cybersecurity requirements and customer expectations
- Explaining interoperability options with hospital systems including HIS, EHR and pharmacy platforms using standards such as HL7, FHIR, XML and REST APIs
- Participating in customer workshops, demonstrations and technical discussions to present integration concepts and solution design
- Contributing to tender responses by preparing technical documentation, diagrams and integration descriptions
- Collaborating with sales, technical services, marketing, research and development and product management to ensure consistent solution design
- Supporting data-driven value discussions, including return on investment considerations and development of tools and templates to improve solution quality
Requirements
- Degree in IT, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmacy IT or a related field, with demonstrated relevant experience
- Experience with hospital connectivity, pharmacy workflow, interface engines and/or enterprise application integration environments
- Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR and XML is beneficial
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS and cybersecurity concepts
- Commercial approach and strong capability to engage in pre-sales activities
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Fluent in Dutch or French, with good command of English
