Job description
We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our DevOps Team in Barcelona. This is an amazing opportunity to work on AWS, CI/CD automation, AI development, and data engineering. The team consists of 5 and is reporting to the Director, DevOps. We have a great skill set in Terraform, AWS services, CI/CD systems, large-scale automation, Python and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in building platforms, solving infrastructure and automation problems, and creating strong engineering foundations., * Join a Team of Lead DevOps Engineers that supports the DevOps Teams across our Portifolio.
- Drive technical strategy and decision-making across core platform domains, including AWS, CI/CD platforms, automation, and overall infrastructure and platform architecture.
- Enable the adoption of AI-assisted development practices across the SDLC, ensuring strong governance, standardization, and reproducibility at scale.
- Ensure operational excellence, including robust production observability and monitoring, and high availability and reliability in line with defined SLAs.
- Support vulnerability management and remediation
- Partner with engineering teams to support AI and data platforms serving the Life Sciences business of Clarivate
- Collaborate with and influence engineering managers and stakeholders throughout the software delivery lifecycle Core responsibility description (selling, developing, managing, product leading)
About the Team
Our Platform Engineering team consists of highly skilled engineers with deep expertise in AWS, Jenkins CI/CD, GitHub, Python, Terraform, and automation.
The Platform Engineering Team builds and operates a centralized platform that drives operational efficiency, enforces compliance at scale, enables developer self-service, and accelerates the organization's adoption of AI across all cloud environments.
Key stakeholders include other DevOps engineers supporting Product development, engineering leaders, product teams, technology leaders, and external cloud and technology partners.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years of professional experience in DevOps / Platform Engineering
- 6+ years working with containers and orchestration platforms, supporting microservices-based architectures
- 5+ years of programming experience (preferably Python), including the ability to perform thorough code reviews
- Proven experience implementing DevOps practices at scale, including large-scale deployments, highly automated CI/CD pipelines, and the integration of security controls and cloud cost optimization into automated workflows.
- Strong hands-on experience with modern DevOps and cloud technologies, including Jenkins, AWS, GitHub Actions/Workflows, Terraform, container orchestration platforms (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes), and AI/ML platforms such as LLM inference, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and agentic development.
It would be great if you also have . . .
- Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), model adaptation and inference-time optimization techniques, and agentic AI development (designing, deploying, and orchestrating autonomous AI agents for complex workflows and decision-making).
- Exposure to modern data engineering practices, including large-scale processing of transactional and analytical data
- A strong interest in standardizing AI adoption across engineering teams, balancing innovation with consistency What desirable experience would you like them to have

This is a full-time, permanent position, primarily working core business hours in CET, with flexibility to collaborate with teams as needed.
The position is hybrid, working in the office 2- 3 days a week.
