Technical Lead - Backend

We are seeking a lead software engineer with expertise in backend and/or frontend technologies, and successful leadership experience to join our AI team. You will be responsible for managing, designing, implementing, and deploying state-of-the-art web applications and software. Working closely with cloud, data, machine learning engineers, and product managers, you will create AI-driven applications that have a direct impact on our business., * Lead a diverse, inclusive, high-performing engineering team

• Build systems and tools that increase our deployment velocity and help develop our technical roadmap and prioritization
• Contribute meaningful amounts of clean, efficient, tested, and scalable code
• Ensure projects are on track, your team is utilized effectively, and core engineering needs are continuously addressed
• Communicate well with other engineering or product teams, take responsibility in broadcasting information internally (documentation) or externally (all hands, demos)
• Collaborating with data, ML, and DevOps engineers
• Collaborating with UX/UI designers in Figma
• Ensuring the security and performance of the application's server-side logic
• Troubleshooting and debugging issues to optimize the application's functionality
• Developing APIs for seamless front-end-back-end communication
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
• Monitoring application performance and usage

This role requires a very agile mindset, programming skills in Python (Fast API) for the backend, Vue.JS framework for the frontend, and extensive knowledge of development tools and cycles. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift, and be willing to own problems end-to-end., * Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, with a focus on JavaScript frameworks and web applications

• Proven expertise in scalable web application with modern frameworks
• Used to work in an Agile environment

Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

• Strong programming skills in Python
• Proficiency in one or more back-end frameworks: Fast API, Nest.JS
• Proficient in Vue.JS (preferred) or React
• Experience with Git and its CI/CD tools
• A continuous learning mindset to stay up-to-date with evolving web and cloud technologies
• Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB)
• Understanding of server-side architecture and RESTful APIs
• Troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS and Azure)
• Familiarity with security best practices
• Familiarity with Machine Learning model training and inference, especially LLMs

Leadership:

• Experienced in collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that reliability and scalability are considered in the design and development of new systems and tools
• Willing to own important problems end-to-end, but also have good delegation skills and are willing to pick up whatever knowledge you're missing to get the job done.
• Excited to do hands-on technical work but equally excited to lead technical teams to peak performance

Education:

• Bachelor's degree or more in Computer science or related field.
