We are supporting a leading UK organisation that delivers technology-enabled business process and operational services across multiple sectors. They specialise in simplifying complex interactions, modernising legacy operations and delivering large-scale transformation for clients with significant regulatory, data and compliance needs.
The role of Pension Data Implementation Consultant is to deliver data-focused implementation work within a pensions environment, ensuring scheme information, configuration requirements, and data processes are accurately translated into system setup and delivered to a high standard. You will interpret and analyse pensions-related data, configure systems accordingly, and support clients throughout the implementation cycle.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading pension-focused data implementation projects within a structured project governance framework.
- Meeting with clients to understand scheme rules, data structures and implementation requirements, then recommending appropriate solutions.
- Translating business and technical requirements into accurate system configurations and documentation.
- Performing configuration work, conducting quality checks and undertaking detailed pensions data analysis.
- Troubleshooting and resolving client issues, escalating complex matters as needed.
- Acting as a technical and process reference point for the team and reviewing work as directed.
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members.
- Delivering internal and external training sessions and creating supporting documentation.
- Contributing to platform enhancements, including analysis, requirements gathering and specification writing.
- Identifying risks and issues early and ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are applied.
Requirements
- Knowledge of pensions administration, including DB, DC, CARE and annuities, and/or employee benefits processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly when working with pensions data.
- Strong proficiency in SQL.
- Advanced Excel capability, including pivot tables, lookups, macros, imports and validation.
- Good understanding of relational database structures and data flows.
- Experience with data migrations, including mapping and data-quality checks.
- Experience with system testing or UAT within pensions or employee benefits contexts.
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.
- Effective time management and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality outputs.
- Experience across the full project lifecycle, including governance, change control and documentation.
- Experience leading meetings, gathering requirements and presenting information clearly.
- Understanding of payroll or broader employee benefits processes.
- Experience using XML, shell environments, VBA, MS Access or similar technical tools.
Location: Remote. However, you may need to travel to client sites around the UK when required.
Benefits & conditions
The rate on offer: Competitive day rates via umbrella contract dependant on experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday. 37.5 hours per week. Monday to Friday.
Duration: 6 months with opportunity to extend.
