IAM Lead

The IAM Lead is the strategic owner and accountable leader for First Quantum's enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) capability. The role is responsible for defining, delivering and continuously maturing the Group IAM program, ensuring identity is treated as a foundational security, risk management, and business enablement function.

This position sets the vision and multi-year roadmap for IAM, driving execution through a combination of lean internal capability and strong external delivery partners. Acting as a Group-wide authority and advocate for modern identity practices, the IAM Lead champions scalable, automated and policy-driven identity controls that reduce risk, improve user experience, and support digital transformation across IT, OT and the wider business.

IAM Strategy, Leadership & Programme Ownership

• Own the enterprise IAM strategy, target state architecture and multi-year roadmap aligned to business, regulatory and risk requirements.
• Lead the end-to-end IAM program, prioritising initiatives, managing dependencies, risks and delivery outcomes.
• Act as the single accountable owner for IAM capabilities including IGA, PAM, authentication, authorisation and identity life cycle management.
• Manage an effective delivery model leveraging external service providers, system integrators and vendors while maintaining strong internal governance and accountability.
• Provide visible leadership and direction for Identity across the Group, defining principles, standards and ways of working.
• Serve as the senior IAM advisor to Security leadership, IT leadership and business stakeholders.
• Act as a confident IAM evangelist, promoting modern identity-first security practices and embedding them across programmes and operations

Delivery & Operational Oversight

• Ensure effective design, implementation and ongoing operation of IAM controls and platforms across the Group.
• Oversee IAM life cycle processes including joiner/mover/leaver, access certification, and privileged access governance.
• Define identity monitoring requirements and work with the SOC to ensure effective detection and response to identity-related risks.
• Own identity-related policy, standards and control frameworks and ensure compliance across the organisation.
• Drive automation of identity-related business processes to improve efficiency, security and user experience.
• Respond to audit findings, lead remediation activities and continuously improve IAM maturity.
• Maintain awareness of emerging identity threats, technologies and vendor capabilities.
• Contribute to the Group IT and Information Security roadmap and maturity improvement initiatives

• A tertiary qualification in Information Security, Computer Science or Engineering is highly regarded. Relevant security or identity certifications are desirable., * Minimum 8 years' experience in Identity and Access Management roles, with proven leadership of enterprise-scale IAM programs.
• Demonstrated experience delivering IAM outcomes through lean internal teams supplemented by external partners.
• Strong experience defining IAM roadmaps, business cases and success metrics.
• Deep knowledge of identity life cycle management, JML, SSO, recertification, privileged and just-in-time access models.
• Experience governing and architecting solutions across Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, IGA and PAM platforms.
• Strong documentation skills covering architecture, standards, technical decisions and recommendations.
• Proven ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed enterprise environment
