Front End Developer | React, TypeScript, Next.js, GraphQL, Material UI, Capla, Kubernetes Initial 6-month contract Up to £90 per hour - based on 37.5 hours per week Remote working

Digital Skills are working with a global technology business delivering complex internal platforms used by specialist analyst teams. The organisation operates at scale and is investing heavily in modern Front End engineering to improve usability, reliability, and regulatory workflows across its internal products.
About the Role This contract Front End Developer role sits within a product-focused engineering team, owning the design, build, and delivery of modern web applications. You will work with minimal supervision, contribute to high-quality Front End architecture, and help raise engineering standards through collaboration and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Front End features end-to-end, from requirements clarification and UI design through to implementation, testing, and release
- Build maintainable, high-quality user interfaces with a strong focus on usability, performance, accessibility, and security
- Integrate Front End applications with REST and GraphQL APIs provided by Java and Spring Boot Back End services
- Contribute to monitoring and reliability through logs, metrics, dashboards, and alerts for owned user flows
- Participate in incident management and on-call support when required
- Improve code quality, test coverage, and CI/CD pipelines across internal tools and platforms
Desired Skills and Experience
- Around 4+ years of professional experience building production-grade web applications
- Strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills with solid experience using React, ideally with Next.js
- Experience working with Material UI and modern component-based design systems
- Willingness to work with Vue and Capla-based micro-frontends
- Proven experience integrating single-page applications with REST and GraphQL APIs
- Good understanding of Front End testing practices, including unit, integration, and ideally end-to-end testing
- Experience working within CI/CD environments
- Exposure to cloud-native infrastructure and tooling, including Kubernetes and observability platforms
Nice to Have
- Experience in fintech, payments, compliance, AML, or risk-focused environments
- Previous experience building internal tools or case management systems
