Job description

I am hiring for my financial services client in Surrey who are looking for a Data Engineer to design, build, and support data solutions and reporting systems. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality data pipelines, SQL solutions, and Power BI dashboards.

As a Data Engineer you will need to have experience using Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

The role will focus on cleaning existing data, to clean and standardise/understand the current data as my client work towards implementing their own data warehouse. There will be elements of writing scripts but also troubleshooting and understanding existing scripts and also relaying this information to stakeholders in the business, * Develop SQL scripts and stored procedures (Oracle & SQL Server)

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and transformations
  • Support and deploy Power BI dashboards
  • Integrate data from multiple sources (Excel, blob storage, etc.)
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Maintain data platform documentation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and support reporting users

Requirements

  • Strong experience with SQL Server and complex datasets
  • Experience building data pipelines and ETL processes
  • Knowledge of database schema design and permissions
  • Experience with Power BI and reporting solutions
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Strong stakeholder communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical ability, * Experience in Financial Services
  • Knowledge of Power Automate or Microsoft Fabric
  • Experience in Agile environments
  • Mentoring or team support experience
