HPC & AI - Senior Software Engineering Resolution EngineerThis role has been designated as 'Remote/Teleworker', which means you will primarily work from home., Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve challenging and complex software and system issues within established practices and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitate information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle the most unique situations. May seek advice to make decisions on complex business issues., HPE is looking for a senior-level Software Engineering Resolution engineer to join our Level 3 global service HPC team. This service engineer is to provide support for high performance computing cluster management on a variety of supercomputer and cluster-based products. The focus for this position is tracking, communicating, troubleshooting, testing issues/fixes, analyzing Linux and performance issues tied to the HPE Performance Cluster Manager (HPCM) software and tools., * Provide technical support for customer reported issues escalated to level 3 support.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, reproduce, isolate, escalate, and resolve issues.
- Facilitate high quality communication with customers.
- Work with various HPE teams, including but not limited to, HPE Level 2 support, Publications, Training, Support Planning, Testing and Development.
- Designs engineering solutions utilizing multiple engineering disciplines for products, systems, software, and solutions based on established engineering principles and in accordance with development technology practices and guidelines.
- Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Leads a project team of other engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable, cost effective and high-quality solutions for moderately- complex products.
- Test and provide new system software updates and documentation via customer portal.
- Document and communicate throughout the whole process of working on an issue until closure., * Rotation of on-call duties with other staff to provide 24x7 coverage.
- Ability to provide after-hours support, as required.
- Occasional travel for training or assist with installations or support remote systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field/discipline
- Typically, 6 + years of technical experience, ideally in an HPC-related area
Knowledge and Skills:
- Using appropriate engineering design tools and software packages to design components and solutions.
- Strong Linux knowledge and Linux administration skills and experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Linux cluster management experience is very desirable.
- Using empirical analysis, modeling, and testing methodologies to validate product designs and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at management levels.
- Good communication skills, internally within HPE and externally with customers, both verbal and written
- Ability to gather data, perform analysis, reproduce, resolve, or escalate, and see issues through closure.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, switching between working on several issues at once.
