As a Tax Technology Assistant Manager in our Londonoffice, you will play a key role in supporting the continued development of ourclient-focused solutions and bespoke process automations globally. You will bekey in the end-to-end delivery of multiple tax technology and automationsolutions, working closely with our specialist data analytics, datavisualisation, and innovation teams to bring together the best we have to offerto deliver high-quality and technically robust outcomes.
In addition to maintaining and delivering currentofferings, this team breaks new ground in the design/development of newsolutions - taking advantage of the wide variety or technology available at RSMto solve client problems on a global scale.
Your work will involve building automations,improving processes, making processes more robust, conducting research intoemerging technologies, running tests, and identifying what would be useful forour client's needs. Additionally, you will train and upskill junior teammembers in data analytics and automation technologies.
In addition to developing and delivering ourclient-facing tax technology service offering, you will have the opportunity toplay an instrumental role in the commercial deployment of technology enhancedtools and solutions to support our core service lines across all taxes.
Youwill make an impact by:
- Delivering complex and wide-ranging technology projects and contributing to product delivery, with particular use of Alteryx and Power BI.
- Working directly with the tax technology leadership team, playing a key role in the continued development of our global technology service offerings.
- Contributing to client RFP exercises as well as tax technology proposals.
- Developing an advanced level of technical knowledge through personal development opportunities.
- Collaborating with colleagues to effectively communicate how the technology solutions you deliver will benefit our client experience.
- Contributing to the development of junior members of the team who can learn and develop from your skills and experience.

- A background in corporate or direct taxation compliance.
- Experience delivering tax (or tax technology) advisory engagements.
- A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.

- A proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Willingness to work at all levels on a project, and appreciation of when to delegate.
- Excellent IT skills and knowledge of data flows within tax processes.
- A strong ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Awareness of wider tax technology environment, emerging technologies and client needs.
- Experience in delivering demonstrations.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multi-location team, whilst also integrating with local and regional colleagues in offices.
- Openness to new ideas and seeking input from diverse sources to maximise team potential.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven ability to work well with clients and meet their needs.
- Experience and knowledge of tax compliance processes and their interaction with data drawn from Financial Reporting or ERP systems.
- Familiarity with data analytics solutions and processes.
- Alteryx experience.
- Awareness of data acquisition methods (SFTP, API, etc).
- Experience of Power BI or other data visualisation products.
- Awareness of AI solutions and technologies and willingness to learn more around the usage of these for both internal and client solutions.
- Proficiency with typical business technologies such as Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Fabric, etc.
Desirable
- ATT or equivalent technical qualification.
- DITT or other relevant tax technology qualification.
- Alteryx Designer Core qualification or higher.
- Practical knowledge of technology support structures and risk management frameworks.
- Experience with relational database design and best practice.
- Familiarity with Agile development.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure DevOps.
- Strong understanding of classical ML algorithms.
- A Data Analytics and/or Data Science background.
- Experience in developing technologies (AI, ML, RPA, etc).
