  • Maintaining business continuity systems and virtual machine platforms, ensuring stability and recoverability.
  • Developing and managing the organisation's cloud environment, including directory synchronisation and platform administration.
  • Configuring and maintaining internet services including firewall/gateway controls, filtering, cloud email services, and secure remote access.
  • Managing the physical network estate, including wired and wireless VLAN configuration and resilience measures.

  • Maintaining security controls (AV, file protection, network protection tools), monitoring compliance, and helping safeguard organisational data.
  • Supporting printing systems and device management (including tablet/mobile management), and troubleshooting issues across servers, endpoints, and network services.
  • Liaising with suppliers and external partners as needed and contribute to staff technology training and guidance.
  • Communicating clearly with teaching/administrative users while investigating and resolving technical faults and requests.

Requirements

  • Ownership of the organisation's data network (wired and wireless), server estate, back-end systems, and cloud services.
  • Support for a broad managed desktop and mobile estate, plus key network-hosted services (e.g., access control and telephony-type platforms).
  • Provide senior technical support to departments and end users.
  • HND (or higher) in a computing discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a technical IT role.
  • Strong communication, organisational skills, and a high standard of IT competency.
  • Able to work collaboratively, remain flexible, respect confidentiality, and demonstrate reliability.
