JAVA DEVELOPER - BRUSSELS
Start Date: June 2026
Duration: 12 months (with potential extensions)
Location: Brussels, Belgium (2-3 days/week on-site)
About the Project
You will be working on critical financial system initiatives within a public sector client. These are large-scale, high-impact programmes focused on modernising financial infrastructure using robust and scalable Java-based solutions in a high-availability environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Design and develop enterprise Java applications
- Deliver high-quality, scalable solutions in multi-user environments
- Work closely with functional analysts to translate requirements
- Maintain and enhance existing applications
- Adapt systems to evolving technical and business needs
MUST-HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

5+ years experience as a Java Developer (enterprise environment)

Strong core Java expertise

Experience with:

REST/Web Services
-
WSDL, XML, XSD

JAXWS, JSON
Spring Boot (mandatory)
Container platforms (OpenShift or TKGI)
Version control (Git)
English (mandatory)
NICE-TO-HAVE SKILLS
- French or Dutch
- AWS cloud experience
- Test automation
- Swagger/OpenAPI
- Agile Scrum
- Public sector experience
Eligibility Requirements
- Medior-level (5+ years experience)
- Right to work in Belgium (EU or valid permit)
- Available May/June 2026
Working Conditions
- 2-3 days onsite in Brussels
- Flexible depending on project needs
- 12-month contract with extension potential
