Job description
As a Technical Architect, your focused responsibilities will be to serve as recognised subject matter expert and thought leader with deep expertise in infrastructure automation with a strong background in networking. You will leverage that expertise to perform consulting engagements, participate in presales activities (where appropriate), act as a trusted advisor to our clients and ensure technical end-to-end coherence in the project delivery phase., You will operate across both small -scale and complex environments, applying your deep understanding of network infrastructure components alongside a strong command of automation technologies. Your expertise spans advanced network concepts -including but not limited to Wi-Fi, switching and routing (campus and datacentre), and (SD)WAN-across on-premises setups, public cloud platforms, or hybrid environments. In this capacity we will need you to deliver on the following:
- You will be expected to conduct consultative engagements with clients to assess their current state in both network and automation maturity and define a target architecture that align their business requirements and their ambition. Those engagements are mainly composed of:
o an evaluation of a client current maturity; o the identification of user/business stories and an evaluation of their implementation gains and difficulties; o the elaboration of an architecture that responds to those needs and an associated prioritised roadmap of evolution.
- You will drive those engagements across the complete client journey including the delivery phase where you will ensure the technical end-to-end coherence of the proposed solution.
- You will develop standardized consultative engagement templates in response to reoccurring client needs. As owner of such you will be expected to maintain such engagement templates as well as developing sales enablement collateral (e.g., case studies or short descriptions) and raise internal awareness of such engagements.
- We will rely on you to build and develop business cases based on such assessments and present and explain the value of proposed infrastructure to clients in a consultative manner.
- You will design solution architecture and multi -phased migration programs that address technology, people and/or organisation and process change. You will do this in collaboration with our multiple centres of excellence.
- We will need you to maintain broad based technical and solutions knowledge in key IT infrastructure optimisation and solution areas.
- We will rely on you to research and investigate emerging infrastructure technologies and the best practices associated with them (e.g., related to deployment, integration and operation).
- You will be required to drive profound understanding of solutions, best practices and consulting methodologies with clients and colleagues.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor in ICT (Master strongly preferred) .
- At least 10 years' experience in infrastructure architecture or related business.
- You have strong knowledge in the design, deployment, and support of large automation deployments.
- You love maintaining a helicopter view on the whole infrastructure, from networking aspects to cloud computing with a continuous focus on security.
- Expertise in automation technologies (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Good understanding of public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and their automation tools/APIs.
- Experience with software development concepts, CI/CD pipelines, and managing containerized applications.
- Strong knowledge of network technologies (e.g., Wi -Fi, Switch/Routing, SD-WAN, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VPN, VLAN, VRF, 802.1x, ZTNA, SASE, SSE) and vendor solutions (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, …).
- Good business acumen allowing identification of business opportunities and our clients' business needs, and delivery of consultative engagements in line with these.
- Strong knowledge of industry technologies and willingness to further maintain and broaden this knowledge.
- Fluent in Dutch to engage in the Flemish region and good verbal and written knowledge of English and French.
- Emotional and stress resilience and ability to autonomously achieve challenging goals.
- Clear and persuasive communication and ability to interact with various stakeholders in a consultative engagement.
- Analytical thinking and excellent problem-solving ability as well as an appreciation for rigour and objectivity.
- Strong personal initiative and a sense for innovation, to identify efficient and competitive solutions to our clients' needs, as well as new types of engagements and solutions.
- Work flexibility and willingness to travel if needed.
- Eligible and prepared to obtain NATO clearance if necessary.
