Job description
Your role spans the full lifecycle of network architecture: from early-stage conceptual design and definition of reference architectures, through detailed engineering and implementation, to operational readiness. You define strategic guardrails, ensure technological cohesion across teams, and drive architectural decisions that support long-term maintainability and innovation. Working closely with development, product management, sales, and our implementation partners, you influence program direction and proactively remove obstacles to ensure successful outcomes. Our culture values transparency, technical leadership, system thinking, and a strong customer orientation. Continuous learning and empowerment are central to how we collaborate and succeed as a team. How You'll Make an Impact
- Architect, standardize, and continuously refine network concepts, reference architectures, and connectivity frameworks that form the foundation of the Omnivise Ecosystem landscape across a diverse asset portfolio
- Design and own high-level and low-level network architectures, including topology definitions, security zoning concepts, and detailed technical drawings aligned with customer requirements, internal standards, and regulatory expectations
- Configure and govern switching, routing, and firewall platforms (e.g., Cisco, Siemens-Scalance, Siemens-Ruggedcom, MOXA, Hirschmann, Fortinet, Palo Alto), ensuring highly reliable, secure, and maintainable network environments
- Implement, validate, and optimize network and cybersecurity solutions; oversee performance, resilience, and security testing to ensure alignment with architectural targets
- Serve as a senior technical counterpart to internal and external stakeholders, guiding network- and cybersecurity-related decisions and troubleshooting complex issues spanning multiple systems and vendors
- Prepare and review test concepts and procedures (e.g., FAT & SAT), ensuring coverage of critical requirements; provide expert support throughout the full project lifecycle from design to commissioning and final acceptance
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline, combined with extensive professional experience architecting, deploying, and securing complex network infrastructures
- Deep understanding of routing, switching, VPN technologies, segmentation, and advanced network design principles (L3, L2, subnetting, VLANs, etc.)
- Advanced expertise in cloud architectures and connectivity patterns (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), including hybrid and multi-cloud approaches
- Proven mastery of industrial communication protocols such as IEC 61850 (MMS/GOOSE/SMV), DNP, Modbus, OPC UA, IEC 103/101/104, Profinet, and Profibus
- Strong familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards (IEC 62443, ISO 27001, NIST) and ideally experience with Omnivise T3000
- High willingness to travel, with fluent English and basic German skills
